Minety, Wiltshire

Outline planning for 4 new homes in minety wiltshire

MDP were appointed to prepare and submit an outline planning application for the erection of up to 4 new homes, along with associated infrastructure and landscaping, at London Lane, Minety in Wiltshire.

The site is located in the small village of Minety about 12 miles from Swindon and 10 miles from Cirencester, making it easily commutable by car, bus and by train to London and other nearby cities and towns.

The site, which is currently unused, is roughly 0.15 hectares and sits on a ‘fringe of village’ location. The site is unconstrained in planning terms; it does not flood, has no drainage issues, benefits from utilities nearby and enjoys access to basic services and amenities in the village. It does not lie within a Conservation Area or Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is not in proximity to any listed buildings. This all plays in the favour of the site as a potential development site.

The setting provides a prime spot for new houses, with green boundaries surrounding the site and an adjacent pond providing both a focal point for the homes and an idyllic natural setting within which to live.

The application was for up to four homes and sought to highlight the opportunity the site offers in terms of providing the optimum space for much needed housing in the area. Being outline in nature, the plans submitted did not go into specific design detail, however MDP commissioned CGIs for the development in order to demonstrate the potential of the area and ambitions for the site in terms of design quality by bringing it to life.

MDP have drawn on the expertise of a team of experts for this outline application and hope to achieve a positive response from the Local Authority.
