Tender for Private client for REDEVELOPMENT
In 2018 MDP were instructed to prepare a tender to purchase a car park opposite the train station in Blackheath, London. The car park is located just off the High Street with close proximity to independent and high street retailers, cafes and pubs. Unfortunatly, on this occasion, our client was not sucessful in securing the site but this webpage showcases how our vision for the site would have looked had this not been the case. The site currently provides approximately 163 marked parking bays. The project sought to redevelop the site with a residential led scheme and two design options were presented to Network Rail's agents. Option A is a terrace of family townhouses with gardens, while Option B features blocks of low rise flats with shared amenity space. The aspiration of the scheme, in terms of architectural language, is to transpire a respectful approach by introducing traditional materials, with contemporary interpretations, especially given that the proposed site sits in a conservation area. The colour and texture palette would reflect a modest but sleek articulation to ensure a high quality residential development that does not alienate itself from the surrounding fabric. The open spaces of the proposed development are carefully considered to encourage residents to utilise and enjoy them. Please get in touch with MDP using the contact form if you have similar types of sites which require scoping and assessing. All images are the copyright of Boyesrees Architects. |
