Mark Doodes Planning was instructed to submit a planning application for a small-scale residential scheme of two units, a former dance studio with established vehicular and pedestrian access
The site lies in a popular area of north Abingdon, Oxfordshire, near the town centre, several schools and a host of local amenities.
An initial site assessment was carried out by our Planning Consultants, advising our client on how to unlock the development value of the site. At this stage, assessment of the site also flagged issues regarding ecology (the presence of bats on site), arboricultural issues, and as the site is brownfield, some form of contamination existing on site.
MDP assembled a team of experts, heeding their advice to submit an informed planning application, addressing these issues. During the lifecycle of the application, objections regarding the vehicular access were raised by the County Council. MDP provided additional justification to satisfy their concerns to ensure a successful outcome for our client.
The dwellings will provide 2 new large family homes (approx 1550 square ft) in a popular area.
Outline planning permission has been secured for the demolition of the existing dance studio and the erection of 2 large dwellings.
