strategic land in wythall
MDP are promoting for the release of a 2.3 acre site in Wythall from the Green Belt. As Bromsgrove District Council have no five year housing land supply and are highly constrained by the Green Belt, BDC are actively seeking edge of settlement sites such as this to assist. There is also the underlying problem of needing to assist Birmingham with its land supply problems. Three outlines have been prepared. The first option is an open market scheme for 20 units (assuming the site is removed from the Green Belt) with open space, a policy complaint mix including larger units and a play area. The second option is for a 21-unit scheme of smaller social homes (one- and two-bedroom units). This option also includes large areas of open space to assist in reducing Green Belt harm. The final option is a 28-unit scheme showing wider coverage of affordable units that could also double up as Starter Homes.
