internal alterations to LISTED BUILDING in west hanney
Mark Doodes Planning prepared and submitted a planning application for internal alterations to a Grade II Listed Building, including replacement of a modern rear ground floor element, conversion of the garage to a snug, addition of a rear dormer window, and removal of short spans of an internal partition wall. Permission was granted in February 2019. The dwelling, located in the centre of the village West Hanney, makes a positive contribution to the Conservation Area due to its interesting range and original features. The existing garage is not an original feature of the house. The proposed developments will make better use of the previous garage space and the ground floor, remove some unsympathetic modern additions, and bring forward a sympathetic series of alterations to the listed building, which protect what is important in the building’s historic interest. With experience preparing applications for heritage sites, MDP effectively showed that the changes to the home would be sensitive and informed and would not harm the special character of the Grade II Listed Building. |
