MDP initially offered pre-purchase advice on the redundant agricultural site. We then worked with our client to bring forward two simultaneous applications to mitigate risks to the project.
The first submission sought to ensure that the existing planning permission for a pair of semi-detached dwellings, along with the various conditions, didn't time-expire, whilst a second submission brought forward a superior alternative design for a single self build dwelling. The new design was inspired by our research of local barn conversions and, after some discussions with the heritage officer, was supported by LPA officers. We then sought to deal with the dozens of statutory objections, coordinated a wider team, including the Environment Agency, ecology, highways, landscape, heritage and drainage officers. The project represents two years of work to optimise the site, improve the design standard over the consented scheme, and brought to life our client's ambitions of a low carbon custom-designed home. |
